You can cancel your Claap paid subscription at any time. When you do, the changes will take effect at the end of your billing period.

Alternatively, if you're on a Business plan and wish to downgrade to the Basic plan, you can follow a different process which does not require complete cancellation.

How to cancel your subscription

  1. Open your Workspace Settings

  2. Open the Plans & Licenses tab

  3. Click on the "..." menu

  4. Click on Cancel subscription

What happens once you cancel your subscription?

Your subscription will no longer renew at the end of your billing cycle. On that day, a few things will happen:

  • Your workspace will move to a Free plan

  • All workspace members will be migrated to a Basic license

  • All workspace members will be moved to an Owner role

  • Workspace members who have exceed the recording limits included in the Basic license will not be able to create a new recording.

  • All workspace members will lose access to all paid premium features included in Pro and Business licenses

  • Your previously created content will remain accessible

Additionally, the Basic plan has limitations: you can only create up to 10 videos and a total of 300 minutes of recordings. Once these limits are reached, creating new content won't be possible.

Note: you can continue to use Claap and workspace members can benefit from premium features until the end of your billing cycle.

How does cancelling your subscription affect other workspace members?

If you are managing a multi-member workspace and want to reduce the number of Business licenses, you can adjust individual members' roles from Business to Member via the workspace settings under the Members tab.

All workspace members will remain in the workspace. However, they will be limited to the recording capabilities and features included in the free Basic license once the subscription is effectively cancelled.

How to reactivate a cancelled subscription

After you've cancelled your subscription, you will still have the opportunity to reactivate it until the last day of your current billing cycle.

To reactivate your subscription:

  1. Open your Workspace Settings

  2. Open the Plans & Licenses tab

  3. Click on Reactivate

Downgrading vs. Cancelling: Key Differences

When you cancel a subscription, your workspace transitions to the Free plan, and all members are assigned Basic licenses. However, downgrading from a Business to a Basic plan is a targeted adjustment that retains existing data and limits licenses to Basic plan features.
