Using Claap AI to answer any question across meetings and deals

Overview

Claap AI is a powerful feature that helps you extract valuable information and get answers from all your meeting recordings across your entire workspace. Whether you need insights from a specific meeting, want to analyze patterns across multiple recordings, or search for information about particular deals or channels, Claap AI makes it easy to find what you're looking for.

Getting Started with Claap AI

Accessing Claap AI

You can access Claap AI in two ways:

  1. From your workspace: Click the Claap AI button in the lateral sidebar

  2. From within a recording: Click the Claap AI button while viewing any recording

Understanding the Claap AI Interface

When you open Claap AI, you'll see a panel with several key elements:

Top Bar Controls

  • History button: Access all your previous conversations with Claap AI

  • Plus (+) button: Start a new chat session

  • Full screen button: Expand Claap AI to full screen mode for a better viewing experience

Scope Selection

At the top left of the panel, you'll find a dropdown menu that allows you to choose the context for your questions.

This scope can include:

  • All sources I can access: Query across all recordings you have access to in your workspace

  • Specific channel: Focus on recordings from a particular channel

  • Specific recording: Ask questions about one particular meeting

  • Specific deal: Get insights related to a particular deal

You can search within this dropdown to quickly find and select the specific scope you want:

How to Use Claap AI

Asking Questions

  1. Select your scope using the dropdown menu at the top left

  2. Type your question in the chat input field

  3. Press Enter or click send to submit your query

Claap AI will process your question and provide a comprehensive answer based on the content within your selected scope.

Understanding Claap AI Responses

Sources and Citations

Claap AI provides detailed answers with built-in source references:

  • Inline sources: Look for source indicators next to specific pieces of information in the response

  • Source tooltips: Hover over any source to see an extract from the transcript containing that information

  • Direct navigation: Click on any source to jump directly to that moment in the original recording

Source List

Below each answer, you'll find a complete list of all recordings and sources that Claap AI used to generate the response. Clicking on any of these sources will open the corresponding recording:

Advanced Features

Mentioning Specific Entities

You can make your questions more precise by mentioning specific entities using the @ symbol, just like mentioning someone in a message. When you start typing the @ symbol, suggested entities will be shown. You can reference:

  • People (e.g., "@John")

  • Recordings (e.g., "@Weekly Team Meeting")

  • Channels (e.g., "@Sales Channel")

  • Deals (e.g., "@Acme Corp Deal")

  • Companies (e.g., "@Acme Corporation")

This helps guide Claap AI to provide more targeted and relevant responses.

Adding Insights to Meeting Overview

When using Claap AI from within a specific recording, you'll see an "Add to Meeting Notes" button at the bottom of AI responses under the action section:

This allows you to save valuable responses directly into the Overview section of your recording.

Privacy and Permissions

Claap AI respects your existing access permissions and privacy settings:

  • Access control: You can only query content that you normally have permission to access

  • Visibility preservation: All existing recording visibility and permission settings remain intact

  • Secure processing: Your data stays within your workspace's security boundaries

Tips for Better Results

Effective Question Types

  • Specific queries: "What were the main objections raised in sales calls this month?"

  • Comparative analysis: "How do our Q4 goals compare to Q3 achievements?"

  • Action items: "What follow-up tasks were mentioned in the @Project Alpha meetings?"

  • Trend analysis: "What recurring themes appear in customer feedback recordings?"

Best Practices

  1. Be specific with your scope selection to get more relevant results

  2. Use @mentions to reference specific entities when needed

  3. Ask follow-up questions to dive deeper into topics

  4. Review sources to verify and get additional context

  5. Save important insights to meeting notes for future reference

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  • No results found: Check your scope selection and ensure you have access to relevant recordings

  • Limited responses: Verify that your selected scope contains recordings with the information you're seeking

  • Permission errors: Contact your workspace administrator if you believe you should have access to certain content
