A video stuck in processing will look like this:
What can you do?
If your video has not processed after 10 minutes, there are two actions you can try to attempt to recover it manually.
Check the Troubleshooting page
The videos your record with the Chrome Extension are temporarily stored in your computer. It may be the case that a video stuck in processing failed to transfer completely to Claap's servers, but is still fully available on your computer.
Recovery steps:
Right-click on the Claap extension in the Chrome bar
Click on Troubleshooting
Check if your recording is listed under the Videos section
Download it
Upload it again on Claap (see Upload instructions). This will create a new recording in your Library with your recovered video.
Extract the video from the recording page
Another recovery procedure you can try if you have your processing recording page still opened is the one described in this claap video.
Notes:
It's important that you copy the
blob:http
url entirely and paste that in the same browserThis workaround only works when the recording has been done with the Claap Chrome Extension
Processing speed
Sometimes your video may just be taking a little longer than usual to be processed. The processing speed depends on several factors:
Duration of your video, longer videos will take longer to process.
Your Internet upload speed
Your Internet connection β make sure you're connected to a stable internet connection. If you experienced an interruption while recording (wifi or internet dropout) or during processing, your video may not upload with success.
Load on our system -- occasionally our systems may be handling an unusual amount of traffic or videos to process, and this could temporarily affect the processing speed of your recording.
Leaving the Claap Pinned tab open
As you record with the Claap Chrome Extension, a Claap recording tab will be pinned to the left of all of your other tabs in your browser window:
This tab will remain open until your recording is fully transferred to Claap for its processing. It will close automatically when the transfer is complete. You do not need to interact with that tab.
β οΈ It's important to leave the Claap pinned tab open even after you saved your recording. Closing the tab manually will interrupt and delete the recording.
