Before You Record Your First Meeting

A few minutes of setup now will make every meeting smoother later.

Before you record your first meeting, it's worth taking a few minutes to prepare your workspace.

You don't need to configure every setting or connect every integration before you begin. Instead, focus on the essentials that will help Claap work seamlessly from your very first conversation.

Think of this setup as preparing your workspace before your first day at work. Once it's done, you rarely have to think about it again.

What do I need to set up?

For most users, getting started only requires three things:

Your Claap account

Your workspace is where all your meetings, recordings and shared knowledge will live.

If you've already signed in, your can update your personal preferences and you're ready for the next step.

Your calendar

Your calendar tells Claap when your meetings are happening. Connecting it allows Claap to recognize your upcoming meetings and provide the best recording experience. You can connect your Google Calendar or your Outlook Calendar.

Your CRM (optional)

If your team already works with a CRM, you can connect it to Claap.

This helps keep your customer conversations connected with the rest of your sales process.

If you don't use a CRM, simply skip this step. You can still enjoy the full recording experience.

Keep it simple

One of the most common mistakes new users make is trying to configure every option before recording a meeting.

We actually recommend the opposite.

  • Complete the basics.

  • Record one meeting.

  • Explore the result.

Then come back later to customize your workspace if needed.

You'll understand much better which settings matter after you've experienced the product.

What happens next?

Once your workspace is ready, you'll connect the tools that help Claap automate your workflow.

Let's start with the most important one: your calendar.
