Folders are perfect to organize recordings that belong to a common project or area (e.g. product demos, sales meetings recordings, and training videos). Folders are always associated with a "space" to make them easier to find and share.

Folders overview

Folders bring order and clarity to work β€” you can create them for any project, vertical, or sub-team. With the right people and information in one place, teams can share ideas, make decisions, and move work forward.

All the folders to which you are invited are listed in the lateral bar, below the space they belong to. Click a folder name to open it and see its details: description, invited users, and related recordings.

Adding, staring, and deleting a folder

To learn more about how to manage a folder, read the following articles:

Sharing a folder

When you invite users to your team, they immediately get access to all workspace-shared folders.

Workspace members with access to a folder can also share it directly with other users. They can invite collaborators via email or with a public link (as explained below).

Sharing a folder via email

You can invite collaborators to folders via email. To invite via email on any folder:

  1. Click on the Share button at the top right of the folder page.

  2. Enter the email address of the user and click Invite.

  3. The invited user will receive an email with a link to the folder.

  4. If they don't already use Claap, they can sign up to access your page.

Sharing a folder with a public link

Once you make a folder accessible for visitors, anyone with the link can immediately access it and all the recordings that live in that folder. To invite visitors to a folder:

  1. Click on the Share button at the top right of the folder page

  2. Next to Anyone with the link select the right permission level

  3. Copy the link from the same window

  4. Anyone with the link can now access your folder

Re-organize folders

You can re-organize folders within the same space or move them between spaces. Just drag and drop to adjust the order of your folder.

Tips and best practices

  • Use workspace folders to increase transparency within your organization and easily share information across your workspace.

  • Make sure to add precise names to your folders to ease cross-team collaboration and project management.

  • Illustrate each folder with a relevant icon. This will make it easier for people to find and move around different content in your workspace.

  • Add a description and thumbnail to the folder to show what it's for. This will give people more information about how to use it.
