Sometimes you need to give feedback that's a bit hard to deliver with just text. Or maybe you want to add more data and context to the discussion. With video replies you can.

Benefits of replying with video

Truth is, comment threads in Claap could become pretty long when you had to show or tell something a bit complex. That's why we built video replies. You can reply to a thread with a short video. Just hit the πŸŽ₯ icon in your comment thread and start recording:

Favorite use cases from the community include:

  • Design feedback. When giving feedback on a design, you often have something specific in mind β€” shape, colors, workflow β€” that is easier to show.

  • Code Review. Unlock your teammate with more personal, precise feedback.

  • Sales Coaching: watching a customer call and want to provide feedback on the best way to pitch a feature? Hit record and show your magic.

How to record a video reply

Reply to a comment with a video in just a few steps:

  1. Click on the comment you want to reply to

  2. Click on the video icon πŸŽ₯

  3. The extension opens from where you can choose your recording settings

  4. Click on Start recording

  5. Choose what to share

  6. The countdown starts

  7. Once you've finished your recording, save it.

You will be able to preview or discard the video before adding it to the comment.

How to interact with a video reply

Easily interact with a video reply by clicking on the play button. The video is play directly from the comment, but you can also see it in full screen. You can reply with another video or with the same options available for text replies, such as emojis, mentions or polls.

Video replies are limited to 5 minutes. If you want to record a longer video, consider recording a standalone claap and add its link in the comment of the original video.
