Benefits of speaker insights

Speaker insights is a powerful feature when you want to quickly scan a meeting recording with several attendees and focus on one particular attendee. With this feature you can also understand the talk ratio per attendee, i.e. how much each person participated in the meeting.

Favorite use cases from the community include: company all-hands, user interviews, customer calls, and training sessions.

How it works

When you open a claap video, you have access to the speaker insights in the Overview tab:

From here, you can see the following:

  • A list of all the speakers, by order of appearance in the transcript

  • For each speaker’s avatar, we use the same colors as in the transcript tab

  • In each speaker's timeline, we show the moments where he/she was speaking

  • At the end of each speaker timelines, you can see the total speech time and the share of total in %

If the meeting had many participants, not all speakers may by shown by default. Expand the insights to show all speakers by clicking on the arrow below the last visible speaker timeline:

The speakers timeline, video playbar, and transcript are synchronized. This means you can use any of them to navigate the contents of the video. For example, if you click on a segment of the speaker timeline, the video will jump to that moment, and the transcript will scroll to the same timestamp. The same thing happens if you click on a specific moment of the transcript or the video playbar.

💡 Tip: Click on the speaker's avatar to only play segments of the video where this participant is the one speaking.
