The Claap Chrome extension is your shortcut to recording videos or meetings without ever leaving your browser. Whether you're capturing a quick screen walkthrough, a talking-head update, or a full meeting, it's all a click away.

How to Open the Extension
Click the Claap icon in your Chrome toolbar to open the extension panel. You'll see your current workspace name at the top (e.g. CX Claap). If you belong to multiple workspaces, you can switch between them using the Change workspace dropdown.
Recording a Video
Before hitting record, set up your preferences using the four dropdowns:
Full Screen : Choose what you want to capture: your full screen, a specific application window, or just a browser tab.
Camera : Turn your camera on or off. When enabled, your webcam feed will appear as an overlay on the recording.
Microphone : Toggle your mic on or off. Make sure it's on if you want your voice to be captured (and transcribed!).
Add to folder : Organize from the start by selecting the folder where your claap will be saved.
Once you're set, hit the big blue Record video button and you're off. 🎬

Effects & Canvas
At the bottom of the extension, you'll find two bonus tools:
Effects ✨ : Add visual effects to your camera feed to make your recordings more engaging.
Canvas 🖼️ : Use drawing and annotation tools directly on your screen while recording.
Extension Settings
Click the ⚙️ gear icon in the top-right corner to access your preferences.

Display recording countdown | Shows a 3-2-1 countdown before recording starts, so you're never caught off guard. |
Shows a floating Claap widget on web pages, giving you quick access to record without opening the extension. | |
Enable website integrations | Allows Claap to integrate with tools like Notion, Linear, or other supported platforms directly in your browser. |
Record meetings with a bot | When enabled, Claap will send a bot to join and record your calendar meetings. You have to let the bot in. |
Inbox
The inbox icon (top-right of the extension) gives you instant access to your Claap notifications. See who commented on your claaps, mentioned you, or shared something new, directly from your browser. More informations in this article : Inbox
