Open Help & Support in the sidebar, then Install Claap recorders.
Three recorders are offered, and they're not alternatives so much as different situations. Most people end up with two of them.
The desktop app
Records from anywhere on your machine, not just inside the browser, and lets you place your camera wherever you want on your desktop.
Click Download App for macOS and follow the install steps.
Using Windows? The in-app button only offers the macOS build. See Downloading and installing the Claap desktop app for the Windows installer.
The Chrome extension
Records from within your browser, and unlocks Claap's integrations on the websites you work in.
Click Download Chrome Extension. It opens the Chrome Web Store, and you install it like any other extension.
The mobile app
Records and gives you access to Claap on the go, which is what you want for in-person conversations and for catching up on recordings away from your desk.
Click Get Mobile App.
Knowing what you've already installed
Each recorder shows its status next to the download button. A green tick and installed means Claap can see it on this machine, so there's nothing to do.
The tick is per device. If you use Claap on a laptop and a desktop, each one needs its own install, and this screen only reports on the one you're currently using.
Which one to pick
You want to | Use |
Record a walkthrough of an app outside the browser | Desktop app |
Record a tab, a window, or use Claap on a website you work in | Chrome extension |
Record an in-person conversation, or watch recordings on the move | Mobile app |
Record an online meeting | None of these, the bot recorder handles it from your calendar |
That last row is the one worth remembering. Installing a recorder isn't what makes your meetings get recorded. That's set up in Settings: Meeting preferences.
