Downloading and installing the Claap desktop app

Get Claap on your Mac or Windows computer in a couple of clicks.

The desktop app is where you capture your meetings and record your screen, with nothing joining the call. Claap on web is where you get the AI notes, insights, sharing, and CRM sync. The two work hand in hand.

Pick your platform below, install, then sign in with your usual Claap account.

Download the app

Installing on Mac

  1. Click the Mac link above. The download starts automatically.

  2. Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder to unzip it.

  3. Drag the Claap app into your Applications folder.

  4. Open Claap and sign in with the same email address you use on Claap web.

  5. Grant the permissions Claap asks for, so it can capture your meetings cleanly. See Granting the right permissions on the Desktop App Mac if you want the detail.

Once installed, Claap lives in your menu bar at the top of your screen, so it's always one click away.

Installing on Windows

  1. Click the Windows link above. The download starts automatically.

  2. Open the downloaded installer from your Downloads folder.

  3. Follow the prompts to finish the installation.

  4. Open Claap and sign in with the same email address you use on Claap web.

  5. Accept the permission prompts so Claap can access your microphone and screen.

Once you're in

Your upcoming and recent meetings appear straight away, pulled from the calendar connected to your workspace. From there:

If something doesn't work

  • Nothing seems to happen after clicking the link: check your Downloads folder, the file is usually already there.

  • Your Mac refuses to open the app: right-click the Claap app, then choose Open.

  • No meetings showing in the app: connect your calendar from Claap on web first, then reopen the desktop app.

  • You can't sign in: make sure you're using the same email address as your Claap web account, not a personal alias.
